He later earned a BS in engineering from the University of Colorado and went on to work in the research and development of medical equipment. After completing an MBA and MS in marketing, he continued his career in medical technology, eventually relocating to Illinois with his wife, Janice, and settling in Arlington Heights due to its walkability, schools, and quality of life.
Since 2018, he has worked at Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Illinois, focusing on expanding access to digital health programs and advising large employers. Beyond his professional work, he has been an active volunteer, teaching job search courses, mentoring health tech startups, and serving in leadership roles within the American Marketing Association.
