A fire in the early hours of Tuesday, April 15, left two Arlington Heights apartments uninhabitable.
Fire crews responded around 3 a.m. to the 400 block of East Seegers Road after a report of a fire on a second-floor balcony. On arrival, firefighters were met by a resident who led them to the source. Smoke filled the hallway and apartment, and the fire was found burning in the exterior wall near an HVAC unit.
Though the flames were contained, the affected units sustained fire and water damage, rendering them temporarily unlivable. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.
Firefighters from Mount Prospect, Schaumburg, and Elk Grove Village assisted in the response. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
