The Arlington Heights Village Board just approved a 5% pay increase for Village Manager Randy Recklaus. His new base salary will be $313,533, and he'll also receive a $15,000 bonus.
This puts his total compensation well above $300,000 when you include a vehicle allowance and other benefits. He's been in the role since 2014, when his starting salary was $180,000, and his contract was recently extended through 2028.
What are your thoughts on this level of compensation for the Village Manager position? Does this seem appropriate for overseeing village operations?
