James J. Tinaglia: New Arlington Heights President

James J. Tinaglia has won the role of president of Arlington Heights with 55.31% of the vote, leading Thomas F. Schwingbeck, Jr., who came in second with 31.57%, and Jon S. Ridler, who finished with 13.12% in the village president race.

In the trustee race, incumbent James J. Bertucci was reelected with 16.72% of the votes. He is joined by Carina Santa Maria, who captured 15.86% of the votes, Greg Zyck with14.27%, and Bill Manganaro, who secured his spot with12.87%. This new leadership team brings a variety of experiences and perspectives, poised to tackle Arlington Heights’ challenges and drive forward initiatives that will significantly influence the village’s strategic direction, reflecting the community’s desire for progressive governance and thoughtful leadership.

Low Voter Turnout

Arlington Heights had a total of 55,995 registered voters, of which 13,362 cast their ballots. This resulted in a voter turnout of 23.86%. This relatively low turnout highlights a common challenge in local elections, where engagement levels can vary significantly.
